Family Therapy

An integrative approach to transformation

Are You Considering Family Therapy?

Therapy is often focused on addressing the painful aspects of our relationships. Surprisingly, many individuals choose individual therapy instead of involving their families. However, we have found that the most significant and meaningful change occurs when family members are actively engaged in the therapeutic process.

Mental Health Issues In Families

In family therapy, we view mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma as symptoms of the larger family dynamic. We believe that healing can come from working on the wounds that stem from relationships or healing within the relationship itself.

Our approach to family therapy is rooted in the healing power of close, connected relationships within a family. We recognize that imperfections are a part of being human, and they often have the greatest impact on those closest to us. It is natural to experience disappointment or conflicts within close relationships.

When working with each family, we start with the understanding that everyone is doing their best with the tools and resources available to them at the moment. Misunderstandings happen, and negative patterns of interaction can develop. Our role is to explore the underlying emotions, unmet needs, and ineffective communication patterns within the family.

We help families feel more connected, understood, and secure. We utilize the Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) model, where we work with each family member to clarify their needs and emotions. We then facilitate the sharing of these needs and emotions in a way that other family members can better understand.

In family therapy, we do not assign blame to any one person for the issues at hand. Instead, we examine the overarching dynamics and look at the bigger picture. Our goal is to help you uncover patterns that may not be serving your family well and hinder the safety, security, and connection that you all desire.

If you find yourselves stuck in negative patterns or disconnected from one another, we are here to help. Our unique training allows us to assist you in developing the tools needed to regain a sense of wholeness and connection within your family. We are committed to helping you cultivate genuine and deep connections with your loved ones.

We specialize in working with teenage (16+) and adult children, blended families, LGBTQ families, navigating the challenges of aging parents, and even family businesses.

We invite you to reach out to us and start your journey toward a more harmonious and fulfilling family life.
